Valve Lockout Corrosion Resistance, Abrasion Resistance And Scour Resistance

Seal is to prevent leakage, then the principle of Valve Lockout tightness is also from the prevention of leakage research. The tightness of the liquid is carried out by the viscosity of the liquid and the surface tension. When a Valve Lockout leaks a capillary filled with gas, the surface tension may repel the liquid, or the liquid is introduced into the capillary. This creates a tangent angle. When the tangent angle is less than 90 °, the liquid is injected into the capillary, and leaks occur. The leakage occurs because of the different properties of the medium. Experiment with different media, in the same condition, will produce different results. can use water, air or kerosene. When the tangent angle is greater than 90 °, leakage can also occur. According to the Poisson formula, the tightness of gases is related to the viscosity of gas molecules and gases. The leakage is inversely proportional to the length of the capillary and the viscosity of the gas, in direct proportion to the diameter and driving force of the capillary. When the diameter of the capillary is at the same time as the average degree of freedom of the gas molecule, the gas molecule flows into the capillary with free heat movement. Therefore, when we do the Valve Lockout seal test, the medium must use water to play the role of sealing, with the air that gas can not play the role of sealing. Even if we pass a plastic deformation, the diameter of the capillary drops below the gas molecule and still cannot stop the gas flow. The reason is that the gas can still spread through the metal walls. So when we do the gas test, we must be more rigorous than the liquid test.

The Valve Lockout seal is composed of two parts of roughness, which are formed by the unevenness of the wave surface and the distance between the crest. In the case of most of the elastic strain of metal materials in our country, if we want to reach the state of sealing, we need to make the compressive force of the metal material more demanding, that is, the compressive force of materials exceeds its elasticity. Therefore, in the design of the Valve Lockout, the seal pair with a certain hardness difference to match, under the action of pressure, will produce a certain degree of plastic deformation sealing effect. If the sealing surface is metal, then the surface roughness of the protruding point will be the earliest appearance, in the initial use of a small load can be used to make these uneven convex points to produce plastic deformation. When the contact surface increases, the uneven surface becomes plastic-elastic deformation. At this point the roughness on both sides of the concave is present. It is necessary to exert the load which can make the underlying material produce serious plastic deformation, and make the two surfaces contact closely, and the remaining paths can be closed along the continuous line and the circumferential direction.

Metal sealing surface in the use of the process, easy to be caught in the media, media corrosion, wear particles, cavitation and scouring damage. such as wear particles. If the wear particle is smaller than the surface roughness, the surface accuracy of the sealing surface will be improved without deterioration. On the contrary, the surface precision will become worse. Therefore, when choosing the wear particle, it is necessary to consider synthetically the material, working condition, lubrication and corrosion of the sealing surface. As in the case of wear particles, when we choose the seals, we should consider the factors that affect their performance in order to prevent the leakage function. Therefore, it is necessary to select materials that are resistant to corrosion, abrasion and scour resistance. Otherwise, the lack of any of the requirements will make its sealing performance * * lower.
